Project Name
eBusiness Architecture (eBA)
Purpose
The purpose of the CEFACT eBusiness Architecture project is to provide an organising framework for all CEFACT specifications that will help both internal CEFACT working groups and external CEFACT standards users to understand how the collection of CEFACT specifications work together to deliver on the CEFACT vision.
Scope
The scope of the architecture project includes:
Normative
- To define the reference model as the organising framework for CEFACT standards. Updating the ebTA from 1999 and in accordance with the open-EDI reference model.
- To define the relationships between all CEFACT technical and business standards - positioning them within the reference model.
- To define dependencies on external standards (eg that the XML NDR depends on W3C XMl Schema)
Informative
- To define CEFACT "release packages" as a set of compatible specific versions of technical and business standards.
- To identify gaps in CEFACT standards that, if filled, will add value to the CEFACT product (eg WS* profile for UMM).
- To publish this information as a navigable model to the TMG website and to maintain it on a regular basis.
Not in scope
The architecture project scope does NOT include the development of any new specifications. Any gaps in the architectural framework will be idenfied but it will be the responsibility of other projects to fill the gaps.
